The Men Beyond 50 Network
offers resources to help you enjoy life now, learn new lifeskills, make new contacts, grow through the shipwrecks, and be of service as an elder.

The 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond can be a time of great freedom and growth, a chance to be the man you want to be. So why do many men in these years struggle with depression, loneliness and addiction? Because they need new skills, new vision, and support from other men so they can face problems, re-invent themselves, and enjoy elderhood.

Facing the 2020s:
Most people, even the alert ones, are in denial or despair about the future. I’ve been terrified, but I’m starting to feel hopeful. Many of the threats could be blessings: all it needs is a rapid, radical, miraculous shift of attitude by most people… The future I’m on about is the medium term: the 2020s and beyond. The challenges include: climate change, crop failures, economic contraction, peak oil and debt/banking crises. Actually, there is a gift in these crises, if we can organise ourselves to reach it: a move to a more local, more humanly connected, more resilient and mutually supportive, less materialistic way of life.

Facing the 2020s is a project which I initiated in January 2012, which I hope will become part of a network of initiatives moving us towards a happier and more sustainable future. Participation by other individuals and organisations is highly welcome. Follow the link for more information about the project and contact details.

Bridport Cohousing:

Threshold Centre, North Dorset:

UK Earth Centre Network
The UK Earth Centre Network was initiated in early 2006 with the aim of "linking every geographical centre in the UK where people of all ages are learning about sustainable living". These "Earth Centres" have a key role in enabling our society to slow down or stop life-threatening processes such as global warming, whilst improving our quality of life, because they offer people a "hands-on" experience of sustainable living.

GreenSpirit
GreenSpirit is a network of people who celebrate the human spirit in the context of our place in the natural world and Earth's own evolutionary journey. Our radical vision brings together the rigour of science, the creativity of artistic expression, the passion of social action and the wisdom of spiritual traditions of all ages. Attracting those of many faith traditions, we are a body of people who believe that human life has both an ecological and a spiritual dimension.
