THE FACILITIES The Oakhouse The Oakhouse is the main indoor gathering place, graceful and comfortable: fully insulated and heated!  It includes a 21' x 21' group room, lean-to dining area, sleeping space for 16 people, a group leaders' bedroom, showers and an indoor composting loo.  Heating by wood-burning stove, lighting by low-voltage solar electricity.  Foam mattresses are provided: just bring a sleeping bag! The Longhouse This includes a kitchen with a full domestic size propane gas cooker, small gas fridge, storage cupboards, and crockery and utensils for up to 24 people.  Plus comfortable sleeping loft for 8 people, showers, and a drying room/sauna.  Heated by wood-burning stove, low-voltage lighting. Eco-loos Our two user-friendly composting loos have received high praise for comfort and pleasant views! The Roundhouse This is a large, covered circular space, diameter 26', with an earth floor.  It has a stone fireplace/altar, and is well suited to dancing, rituals and other group sessions.  Can also be used for undercover sleeping.  The Crafthouse An open-sided, earth-floored space, 24' x 15', which provides a covered area for craft work or other activities. Camp Circles At the heart of the wood is a seven acre area of mature beech and scots pine, which provides a beautiful, sheltered and well-drained setting for the main camping area and camp circle. This area is only a few minutes' walk from the covered facilities.  There are several other areas suitable for camp circles: normally bookings are limited to 25 people, but occasional larger camping groups can be accommodated. Sweat Lodge There is a permanent sweat lodge site, and the frame is regularly renewed.  You would need to bring your own canvases and stones.  Hot Tub New for 2006. We have installed a wood-fired hot tub for users. Capacity 9 seated or more if you dare! Set in a glade just away from the Oak house, its magical location is perfect for winding down in the evening, staring at the stars above you. Special places:  Around the wood you will find that there are many special places with a variety of qualities, suitable for meditation, celebration, retreat time or ceremonies. Flow-form Installed in 2006, the flow-form set in a small garden between the Oak and Long Houses. The solar-powered water flow-form is a perfect spot for relaxing and meditating. Back to Map
